During the Symposium, “From Discrete Event Systems to Beyond,” held on August 10 and 11, participants had the privilege of paying homage to the esteemed Prof. Stéphane Lafortune on the occasion of his 65th birthday. The event attracted a diverse group of scholars and professionals who came together to commemorate Prof. Lafortune’s significant contributions to the field. [1] Among the notable presentations was one by Patricia Pena, who elucidated the application of Supervisory Control Theory in solving Planning Problems.
